Government Relations

Mexico is the second country with the largest number of free trade agreements in the world with forty-three countries and investment accords with over twenty. In addition, the Mexican Constitution reforms opened foreign and private investment in several strategic sectors. And in sectors that are open to private participation (telecoms, non-energy natural resources, transportation) the political and regulatory environment remains complex.

To further our client’s objectives in Mexico, AmeriCompass provides representation, access, and advocacy before federal, state and local government decision-makers and state-owned enterprises. These services are particularly apt for foreign firms looking to enter the Mexican market or pursue a specific project in heavily regulated sectors.

In addition, for those multinational companies with existing operations in the country but outside the nation’s capital city (e.g., Monterrey, Guadalajara or the border region), AmeriCompass may serve as an outsourced Relationship Manager before key public and private sector officials in Mexico City.

AmeriCompass Government Relations services include:

  • Lobbying Congress and the Executive with respect to proposed legislative reforms, policy changes, and regulations affecting our client’s interests.
  • Preparing position papers and public comment with respect to rulemaking and interpretation.
  • Providing access to key executive and legislative decision-makers and stakeholders at the federal and state level.
  • Monitoring issues and developments in Government affecting our client’s interests.
